In addition, why limit yourself to just one category of writing? “Insights” might be a good replacement, but I don’t think it’s universally recognizable as blogs are! If you were to hear someone say, “I’m going to read the insights now,” you wouldn’t think right away that the person was going to go online and read a blog. It would take more words to define. Blog is sufficient in itself. Maybe the question should be: do people still read blogs? Hmmmm….
